Despite all the commotion this past week, turns out the winning bidder that goes by the name "fishbashr1" has backed out leaving the General Lee's owner, actor John Schneider, who played Bo Duke in the ‘80s TV series with an empty bucket of dreams. Schneider, who uses the name “johnsebiz” on ebay left a negative comment on "fishbashr1’s” profile saying, “This is the guy that for fun, decided to bid on the General Lee. Thanks...”
According to a report from Associated Press, neither Schneider nor "fishbashr1" who was traced done as William Fisher (owner of a small business specializing in sports goods called Thrill Outfitters), were available for comments. Looks like for the time being, “Bo’s” stuck with the General… Via: Autoblog.com , Source: SFGate

Update: General Lee fetches in an astonishing $9,900,500 on ebay!
0 comments Posted by bs at 2:27 AMYesterday we reported that 3 ½ hours before the biddings on John Schneider’s (aka Bo Duke) General Lee on ebay ended, that the price had hiked from an ear-buzzing $2,3 million on May 2, to a drop-dead $9,900,001. Well the auction finally closed at whopping $9,900,500! According to a report from CNN, that puts the ’69 Dodge Charger based General Lee just $1.1 million away from the $11 million paid for a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Sports Coupe sold by the auction house Christie's in 1987, which is the most expensive car ever auctioned up to date. Makes you wonder if one of the General Lee’s fetched in so many millions, what the heck would the original, Ford Lincoln Futura based Batmobile (not the replicas), would sell for if George Barris ever decided to sell it… Link: ebay

Holy ebay! Current bid on John Schneider’s 1969 General Lee has climbed to 9,9 million USD!

Totally unbelievable -especially when you think that the last time we checked (March 2) the bid was $2,3 million! According to Schneider, this particular ’69 Dodge Charger appeared in the last Dukes of Hazzard movie, "Dukes Go To Hollywood", with Warner Brothers using it as a template to build all the General Lee's featured in the movie. We’ll keep a close eye on ebay and return with the final price. I still can’t believe it; 10 million bucks… -More "multimillion" General Lee pics after the jump
