Welcome to another round of insignificant teaser pictures of BMW's upcoming 1 Series M Coupe. This time, the Bavarians took a pre-production version of the high-performance compact coupe over to the Arc de Triomphe, just off the Place Charles de Gaulle in Paris, for a quick photo shoot. Once again, the car was fully wrapped so nothing really new to see here. And before you ask, we don't know anything about the man or the young woman posing with the car.
BMW hasn't really given out any specific details about the car, but we do know it will be powered by a turbocharged straight six producing somewhere around 350-ponies with the Germans also hinting that it's meant to be a spiritual successor to the original E30 M3 of the late 1980s / early 1990s.
The newest member of BMW's 'M' model family is scheduled to be launched into the market sometime next year.

Talented photoshop artist 'Alpine325Ci' from the 1Addicts bimmer forums is at it again. This time he created a very realistic CGI of the upcoming BMW 1-Series M Coupe based on what we've seen of the car up until now in the official teaser videos. If you want our opinion, the wheels need to be a bit larger (especially the rear set), but other than that, the rendering looks pretty accurate.
The smallest member of BMW's family of 'M' models will enter production in a limited run next year. Official intel on the mechanics remain scarce, though it is believed that the car will get a tweaked version of the 135i's 3.0-liter turbocharged straight six producing somewhere in the vicinity of 330-350 horsepower.

Ask and yes shall receive! Apparently someone was listening, because just a day after putting up some spy shots of the new upcoming F20 1-Series, BMW has dropped a second teaser video of the 1-Series M Coupe.
While everyone is still waiting breathlessly for final specs and details, it's clear that the baby M is supposed to be something magical. People at Oktoberfest up Wisconsin way may be getting a sneak peak tonight (we told you about that earlier today), so get at us and let us know how that goes.
The only official details are what you've seen so far: quad exhaust tips, big cross-spoke rims, an M fascia, and beefed-up fenders. The car will likely get a tweaked version of the 135i's twin-turbo 6-cylinder, M goodies front to back, a locking diff, and the requisite suspension/steering/brake upgrades.
Other than a potential upcoming cell-phone pic of the eye-searingly orange pocket rocket, enjoy the teaser below. Let's hope this puppy lives up to the hype.

BMW to show 1M Coupe tonight at Oktoberfest meeting in Wisconsin?

It's been a while since we last heard something new about the forthcoming BMW 1M Coupe. However, an announcement from the BMW CCA (that would be BMW Car Club of America) concerning a "sneak peak" at this week's Oktoberfest gathering in Wisconsin, USA, hints at the possible presentation and the release of more details about the car at tonight's banquet, which will be attended by BMW Motorsport Division boss, Dr. Kay Segler. There's a possibility the tease may concern a different model, but our money would go to the 1M Coupe.
Stay tuned as we'll update this story later in the day if there's more to it. As always, if any of you happen to make it to the Oktoberfest, we'd appreciate your input (and photos...).

We came across what is quite possibly, one of the rarest and most sought after production BMWs, the iconic M1 mid-engined sports coupe of which only 451 examples were built between 1978 and 1981. This particular M1 is a 1980 model with only 26,999 miles on the odometer and it's offered for sale for $250,000 by a dealer located in Scotts Valley, California.
The first and only mid-engined production BMW to date, was developed in partnership with Lamborghini and styled by the legendary Giorgetto Guigiaro. It was powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter straight-six delivering 277-horspower hooked up to a five-speed manual gearbox, and it could reach a top speed of 260 km/h or 162 mph.
When it went on sale in Germany in 1978, the BMW M1 was priced at around 100,000 DM (approx. US$45,000).
In April 2008, BMW celebrated the M1's 30th anniversary by introducing the supercar's modern-day successor with the Homage Concept. Unfortunately, the Bavarian company has no plans to build a production version of the concept.
